Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about compatibility, setup, safety and pricing.

Installation and compatibility

Which phones can run Elder Dialler?

A phone-capable Android device running Android 10 or later is required. Elder Dialler is not an internet or video-calling service.

Why must Elder Dialler be the default phone app?

Android gives the selected default phone app control of call presentation and handling. Elder Dialler cannot provide its simplified call screens without that role.

Free and Advanced versions

What is included free?

The core simplified phone experience, speed dials, manual SOS, Pin Screen and standard calling, theme, font and layout preferences are available without the Advanced purchase.

What does Advanced unlock?

A one-time purchase unlocks Contact Images, Language, AutoSOS and Safe Call Mode. Google Play shows the current local price before purchase.

Calls and safeguards

Does Safe Call Mode stop every scam call?

No. Safe Call Mode is an Advanced option. It permits matched Contacts and rejects unmatched, invalid or private incoming numbers, but it cannot reliably identify spoofed numbers or guarantee that every unwanted call is stopped.

Is SOS an emergency-response service?

No. SOS calls configured personal contacts in sequence. Connection, answer and assistance are not guaranteed. Use the phone's normal emergency-call method when emergency services are required.

What does Pin Screen do?

It limits accidental navigation away from Elder Dialler and provides a simpler phone experience. It is a free option and is not a security lock.

Privacy and support

Does Elder Dialler upload Contacts automatically?

The current app reads Contacts locally when permission is granted. Its manifest does not request Internet permission.

Are diagnostic reports sent automatically?

No. Diagnostic logging must be enabled, and preparing a report opens Android's share chooser. The user decides whether to send it.
