Prepare phone contacts
Add and review the people who may appear in Elder Dialler.
Add and edit contacts from Elder Dialler
- Open CONTACTS in Elder Dialler while the app is not pinned.
- Grant Contacts permission if Android asks. The system prompt may look different on another phone.
- Add a new person with the yellow + button. The button is on the Contacts page and opens the Android contact-creation flow.
- Edit an existing person by pressing and holding their contact name. Choose Edit Contact from the action menu, then update the name, number or photo in Android Contacts.
- Return to Elder Dialler and check the contact is visible. Confirm the expected name and number before assigning speed dial or SOS roles.
Keep the roles separate: Android Contacts stores the person's details. Elder Dialler assigns speed-dial, SOS and blocking roles.
Elder Dialler reads visible phone contacts after permission is granted.
