Prepare phone contacts

Add and review the people who may appear in Elder Dialler.

Add and edit contacts from Elder Dialler

  1. Open CONTACTS in Elder Dialler while the app is not pinned.
  2. Grant Contacts permission if Android asks. The system prompt may look different on another phone.
  3. Add a new person with the yellow + button. The button is on the Contacts page and opens the Android contact-creation flow.
  4. Edit an existing person by pressing and holding their contact name. Choose Edit Contact from the action menu, then update the name, number or photo in Android Contacts.
  5. Return to Elder Dialler and check the contact is visible. Confirm the expected name and number before assigning speed dial or SOS roles.

Keep the roles separate: Android Contacts stores the person's details. Elder Dialler assigns speed-dial, SOS and blocking roles.
