Make Elder Dialler the default phone app

Complete the required Android default-phone setup before feature permissions.

Complete the Android phone role first

  1. Open Elder Dialler and read the first-run explanation. It explains why the app needs phone-related access.
  2. Continue to the Android default phone app prompt.
  3. Choose Elder Dialler as the default phone app. The exact Android wording and appearance can vary by phone.
  4. Grant a feature permission when Elder Dialler requests it. Becoming the default phone app does not automatically grant Contacts permission.
  5. Make a call to a consenting contact. Elder Dialler shows its own outgoing and in-call screens.

If Android does not show the prompt: Open the phone's Settings and find Default apps or Phone app. The path and labels vary between devices.
